NOTHING TO SIGN UP FOR
You've heard about AI.
Here's what it's actually good for.
Pick something you're dealing with. We'll write the message for you to send.
Or start with this one. Send it and it will ask you about your life, then tell you how it could actually help.
I'm new to this. Ask me five questions about my life, one at a time, waiting for my answer before asking the next one. Then tell me five specific ways you could actually be useful to me.
What is this thing?
There are a handful of free apps now that you can write to in plain English and get a real answer back. Not search results — an answer, written for you, about your specific situation. You can ask follow-up questions and it remembers what you already said.
They're good at explaining things, writing things, and thinking through problems with you. They're not always right, and they don't know anything about you except what you tell them.
The hard part isn't using one. It's knowing what to use one for. That's what this site is: a list of real situations, and the exact words to send.
I just want to try it
Four things you can send right now. Nothing to fill in, nothing to lose.
I want to make a picture
A birthday card, an invitation, a sign for the church bulletin board. You describe it, and it draws it.
I got something I don't understand
A bill, a letter from the insurance company, a notice, a contract. Anything full of words that seem designed to confuse you.
I think this might be a scam
A text, an email, a phone call, a pop-up on your computer. Check it before you do anything.
I need to write something
A card, a letter, a complaint, a toast, a note you've been putting off.
I have a health question or an appointment coming up
Understand what you've been told, and walk into the appointment prepared. Not a substitute for your doctor.
Something isn't working
The printer, the TV, the phone, the thermostat, a light on the dashboard.
I want to plan or figure something out
A trip, a gift, dinner from what's already in the fridge, a decision you keep going back and forth on.
I want to learn or remember something
Understand a subject at your own pace, or get your own stories written down before they're gone.
How this works
Pick something you're dealing with.
Real situations, in plain words. Not a list of features.
Answer a few questions.
Three or four, one at a time. You can skip any of them.
Copy the message and paste it into a free app.
We'll show you which one to use and exactly where it goes.
A few things worth knowing
What you type here stays on your device. This page can't see it, and nothing is sent anywhere.
There's nothing to sign up for, nothing to pay for, and no email to give us.
The apps we point you to are free to use. You'll need to make an account with them, and we'll show you how.
You can't break anything. There's no wrong thing to type, and nobody is watching you learn.
